Steve's Lecture at MTSU

Postby Jon Arnold on Tue Jun 08, 2004 4:12 pm

So sometime last year, I phoned Steve and asked if he'd like to speak at MTSU. He graciously accepted and earlier this year, spoke to a large number of our students. I never got a chance to formally thank him, so this will have to do for now. Thanks so much for coming and talking; I know the students had great benefit in hearing what you had to say. I know that I look at recording in a different light now.

For those interested, a crude video was made:

Steve's Lecture

It's a GIANT file but worth viewing, in my opinion.

Thanks again Steve.

It is also a proof of the accuracy and value of information provided on this board. I think i read most of the stuff that Steve pointed out somewhere on this forum.
Still i really enjoyed watching it. My favorite part is the "John Novotny Hair Mystery" :D
It´s such a fine line between stupid and clever.

I liked the eskimo routine bit the best. This was a great watch, thanks to all involved.

Thanks a ton to those who took the time to put this together.

This was a great way to spend my unwind time after a LONG session.

I think there's a link on Wikipedia. This lecture was the reason I started lurking on this forum in the first place.

Also how I discovered this place.

That link points to the same place however, and is dead.

I have the video. It's 500mb, so if any of you have any good ideas for hosting it, I'm all ears.
I can either split it into parts and host it on youtube, split it into parts and use mediafire or upload a torrent.

Youtube video would be awesome. Keep it in the cultural collective.
I play the bass and program on the interwebs.

Dammit, I think I had the quicktime file of it saved on the HDD, but I can't find it. I'm pretty sure it was a lot smaller than 0.5 GB, too.

What's the format of your file, Sox?
