Nerbs, I had my doubts, because I usually like dumb-as-shit rock bands. But you've found some mf'rs that totally fucking suck. Jeezum Crow this band is horrible. Seriously. This band is pretty much if you took Black Oak Arkansas and gave them 1/16th the instrumental prowess of The Kingsmen, and then took away any songwriting capabities. Holy fuck.

That's true. Since I haven't posted much on here, I should say that I'm a Captain fan and enjoy the Shaggs from time to time. They seem way too redneck to have ever come across those artists in their lifetime. If you haven't checked out the others, I would say "Hot Head" is going to be a classic and I think in "Into the Night", you can hear the guitarist attempt some hammer-ons/pull-offs for the first time in his life.

i think this might have been around 91. i think it's safe to say they don't think they're channeling beefheart/shaggs -- part of the appeal is their seeming lack of self-awareness. it's like dna (the band) by accident. i think that fans of dna and the shaggs and maybe some metal should check it out and consider that they may seriously like it.
